Sri Lankan Highlights
Day 01: Arrival - Dambulla
Our Tour Guide will meet you at the Katunayake International Airport upon your arrival to Sri Lanka and transfer to Habarana via Pinnawala & Dambulla.
Visit Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage to witness the giants playing in the Ma-Oya River and bottle feeding of baby Elephants. The lunch could be arranged at a Restaurant in Pinnawala or you can proceed to Habarana.
Visit Dambulla Cave Temple which is a complex of rock caves built by King Valagambahu in the 1st Century BC, containing over 150 images of Buddha with over 2000 square meters of painted walls and ceilings is the largest area of paintings found in the world.
Continue to Habarana and check in at Cinnamon Lodge in Habarana for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 02: Dambulla - Kandy
After the breakfast at Cinnamon Lodge proceed to Kandy.
Climb the giant Sigiriya Rock fortress which was built by King Kashyapa in 8th Century AD. Sigiriya Rock and surroundings is a well planned historical site which offers number of rock fountains still working during the rainy days. The water ponds in the summit, the frescos on the western wall of the rock, lions paw in the northern part of the rock are some of the engineering marvels of the ancient people.
Proceed to Kandy via Matale.
Visit a spice garden in Matale en route and the lunch also could be arranged at the Spice Garden.
Proceed to Kandy and check in Earls Regency Hotel in Kandy.
Late evening, we first visit the Temple of Sacred Tooth Relic of Lord Buddha, one of the most venerable places to the Buddhists in Sri Lanka. If you are lucky enough, you will be able to participate the “Thewawa” Ceremony where the relic chamber will open during that time.
In the late evening you will be taken to watch a cultural show.
Back to Earls Regency Hotel for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 03: Kandy – Nuwara Eliya
Proceed to Nuwara Eliya after the breakfast. Today’s journey will be an amazing journey where you will be taken through misty mountains covered with scenic tea bushes. Not only tea plantations, but also some breathtaking water falls are waiting for you on your route.
Visit Peradeniya Botanical Garden en route. This is 147 acres in extent started in 1374 as a pleasure garden of the kings of Kandy. There are more than 500 species of trees and plants. Some are rare & endemic as well as flora from the tropical world.
Have a stop at a Tea Factory to see the production process that the world renowned finest Ceylon Tea. Also you will be able to taste a cup of pure Ceylon Tea.
Proceed to Nuwara Eliya and check in at Grand Hotel for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 04: Nuwara Eliya - Colombo
After breakfast at Hotel; we will proceed to the beach via Kitulgala. The route is fascinating and you will be able to see famous St.Clairs and Devon water falls. Also the recently opened hydro-power project “Upper Kotmale” is en route.
The lunch could be arranged on your way to Colombo. Check in at Cinnamon Lakeside in Colombo.
In the evening you will do a shopping tour in the Colombo city. Colombo even a commercial city, the needs of the leisure travellers can be fulfilled with the range of activities available in the city. Great shopping arcades, luxury hotels, restaurants, Karaoke Bars, Casinos, nightclubs and other entertainment facilities available within the city limits. Dinner could be taken in a Restaurant in Colombo City.
Overnight stay at Cinnamon Lakeside Hotel.
Day 05: Colombo - Departure
After breakfast at Cinnamon Lakeside Hotel you will be transferred to Airport to connect the departure flight.
